I am not surprised .. I told you that G+ would be part of google suite only ..year ago … in the meanwhile, I will encourage people to give a try to mastodon youtube.com – What is the Mastodon Social Network?

I even send a request to add it to the Google cloud marketplace … honestly, mastodon reminds me G+ in the very beginning
