Google Maps – Are You In Control ?
If you are a business owner you need to have control over your maps especially with reviews, photos and more .. Not being able to respond to a good review is a bummer but NOT being able to respond to those negative reviews can really destroy a companies reputation and possibly put them out of business.

Thx for the the Re-share .. It has been a fun experiment to identify a percentage of not verified companies .. My study included 1,600 businesses within an 11 Mile Radius

William Rock what percentage did you find? I presume around 50% at least non-claimed biz.

Good Morning … Monika Schmidt and William Rock
Do you encourage Business Owners to „Claim The Business“ or Do You Claim it first ?

Coach G Moore We only advise companies to verify their business .. It requires them to get a post card sent to the address with a verification number they will enter later to complete the process.

Monika Schmidt when I did the study last summer it was around 60% and since then I have started to go back and check on those who I marked in my maps with a star .. Some of them are actually getting control however many still are left with the Claim this Business even after this much time.
Here is a link to another article where I was focused on Chambers of Commerce and found even they where not verified @ linkedin.com – Important Message to Chamber of Commerce Managers

William Rock thanks a lot!
That’s my experience, too. Even large businesses or companies haven’t claimed their biz.
Well, that’s our mission, part of, isn’t it?

Agreed it is our mission to get the word out and help as many companies as possible 🙂 I enjoy teaching,
As for large companies not being verified Yes, Everyone should be verified. ..
I have seen a ton especially within Airports and or my example within my post with Starbucks still not being verified even after a year of my adding a photo and replacing the default blue image and updating some of their information @ google.com – Google Maps

William Rock oh, did you just say, it’s not necessary for larger companies to get their business claimed? That’s new to me. Thanks for the lesson 🙂

Monika Schmidt No, Everyone should verify big or small .. my example was Starbucks if you click on that listing you will even see they are not claimed …
The Marketing Team needs to review all of their locations to make sure everything is correct.
In the Starbucks case they have 45 Reviews they cannot even respond to those clients.
